SENC Mentoring Program 2ed (2024-2025)

Do you have doubts as a scientist about how to face the future? It can be challenging at different stages of a scientific career to find support or advice when taking the next step or making a decision. From the SENC’s Committee for Young Researchers and Training (CJIF), we want to promote the availability of information to researchers at various stages of their professional careers (both predoctoral and postdoctoral), encouraging access to the experiences of others outside their usual circle, which can serve as a guide and help for the future. To this end, we present the 2nd edition of the SENC Mentoring Program, aimed at connecting both doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers with established scientists and senior postdocs, who are also enthusiastic and committed to sharing their experience. Additionally, this year we are introducing a new collaboration with the SENC Women in Neuroscience Committee (WiNs) to offer more specific mentoring on the challenges women face in their academic careers.

  • Participate in virtual mentor circles where you will connect with various scientific profiles, learning from the experiences shared through different testimonies and themes.
  • Find your scientific mentor and develop a trust-based relationship that can guide you in making decisions for your professional future.
  • Meet other mentors and mentees at the in-person event during the next SENC Meeting in 2025.

Although a research career can seem overwhelming, being a scientist can be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience with the right mentorship. Don’t hesitate! Whether you are a predoctoral student looking to guide your career or a postdoc aiming to establish a new research group, participate as a mentee.

Likewise, if you want to help other researchers by offering your own experience and professional trajectory as a guide, sign up as a mentor in the program and receive a certificate from SENC
