The biennial congresses of the Society are one of the most important activities organized by the SENC. These congresses are one of the neuroscientific encounters with the greatest impact, not only on a national scale, but with international repercussions.

The Spanish Society of Neurosciences held its biennial meetings since the 1980s, when the first one took place in Madrid in 1985. Previously, the Meetings of Spanish Neurobiologists, from 1980 to 1983, constituted the push for the creation of the SENC.
